Mammography

Screening:

To be eligible for this program, women must be 40 years of age or older, have not had a mammogram in the last year, and have no health insurance or high deductible coverage.

Diagnostic Mammography:

Age is left to medical criteria, it is aimed at all women with symptoms of breast cancer, and a medical order is required.

Mammography is currently the most effective screening test for detecting breast cancer, but its benefits differ for women in different age groups. Explore mammography guidelines for the following age ranges:

Additionally, the American Cancer Society and Susan G Komen offer many resources on breast cancer screening.

GYN

Cervical Cancer Screening:

Early detection saves lives. We offer no- or low-cost Pap smears and HPV testing to screen for cervical cancer, helping you take control of your reproductive health. Screenings are available by appointment at our Madrid location and as walk-ins at the Mexican Consulate.

STD/STI Testing:

Your sexual health matters. We provide free, confidential testing and counseling for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, chlamydia, and gonorrhea. Testing is offered by appointment at Madrid and walk-in at the Mexican Consulate—no judgment, just care.

Contraceptives:

We help you explore short- and long-term birth control options that fit your life and goals. Plan B emergency contraception is available on-site at no cost, and we partner with Planned Parenthood, CommuniCare, and South Texas Family Planning to connect you with additional options such as pills, patches, injections, implants, and IUDs. Our staff offers confidential education and navigation so you can make informed decisions about your reproductive health—with care that’s accessible and affordable.

Educational Services

Knowledge is power—and we’re here to share it.

We believe education should meet you where you are. Our community classes are free, interactive, and culturally relevant—covering topics like reproductive health, breast health, prenatal and postpartum care, self-care, and self-advocacy. These classes are offered throughout San Antonio at neighborhood centers, schools, churches, and community events, helping individuals and families take charge of their health and well-being.

For those ready to turn knowledge into a career, our certified Community Health Worker (CHW) and Community Health Worker Instructor (CHWI) trainings build the skills, confidence, and connections needed to make an impact in public health.

Want to bring a class to your school, church, or community group?

We’d love to collaborate—contact us to schedule a session that fits your community’s needs.
