The YWCA East Central After School Program provides a safe, structured, and enriching environment where students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and develop meaningful relationships.
We understand that the hours after school matter. Through a balance of homework support, enrichment activities, and social-emotional learning, we create a space where every child feels supported, capable, and connected.
What Students Experience
In our program, students are more than supervised; they are supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow.
Each day, students can expect:
A safe and welcoming environment where they feel seen and valued
Dedicated time for homework support and academic growth
Opportunities to explore enrichment activities like STEM, arts, and recreation
Positive relationships with caring, trained staff
A strong sense of community and belonging
How Our Program Works
We believe students thrive when programs are intentional, consistent, and relationship-driven.
Our approach is built on:
Structure and consistency that creates stability after the school day
Engaged staff who actively build relationships with students
Intentional programming that balances academics, enrichment, and play
A focus on the whole child, supporting both learning and social-emotional development
Our Commitment to Students and Families
We are committed to creating an environment where every child and family feels supported.
Safety First: Physical and emotional safety guide every decision we make
Relationships Matter: We prioritize connection and trust with students and families
Consistency Builds Confidence: Clear routines and expectations help students succeed
